Miami Dolphins rookie wide receiver Caleb Douglas is ready to make an impact after missing three games with an ankle injury. Coach Jeff Hafley noted the challenge of returning to game speed, stating, "It's not easy," per ESPN. Douglas proved his readiness with two touchdown catches against the New York Jets last Sunday, helping Miami secure a 28-25 victory at MetLife Stadium.

The first-year player showed significant improvement in his physicality and route running during that Week 7 matchup. Hafley highlighted Douglas's ability to fight with defensive backs and his clean procedural work despite the layoff. "And then obviously you had the one really good route in the red zone and then the catch and run down the sideline. Hopefully we'll get a chance to get him the ball more," the coach said, according to Heavy.com.

Fantasy impact

Douglas's role appears to be expanding as he integrates back into the offense following his injury. He recorded 70 yards on just two receptions in his return, including a 63-yard score that put the game out of reach. Hafley emphasized that the rookie had no procedural errors, suggesting he is a reliable option for the upcoming Sunday afternoon game against the New England Patriots.

While Douglas downplayed the pressure of facing a Pro Bowl cornerback, he remains focused on winning his individual matchups. "Honestly, man, just another DB," Douglas said, per Heavy.com. "Just got to go out there and just win my one-eleventh." The Dolphins ran for 156 yards last week, marking their fifth straight game with over 100 rushing yards, which should open up the passing game.

What to do

Start Caleb Douglas as a WR3 in your lineup for Sunday's game against the Patriots. He has shown big-play ability with two touchdowns in his return and is expected to see more targets moving forward.

Monitor his usage in the red zone and his matchup against New England's secondary during the 4:25 p.m. ET kickoff at Hard Rock Stadium.
