Joe Burrow, Tee Higgins, and Ja'Marr Chase delivered huge performances for the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 8, while the Atlanta Falcons and running back Bijan Robinson struggled. According to Matt Bowen and Tristan H. Cockcroft writing for ESPN, Burrow scored a season-high 39.48 fantasy points despite throwing three interceptions in an overtime win against Tennessee. He finished with 462 passing yards and five touchdowns, adding 10 rushing yards and another score on the ground.
With 11 of 12 targets caught for 155 yards and two touchdowns, Higgins also had a season-best day to post 37.5 points. Ja'Marr Chase recorded his highest total of the season with 31.1 points. The report notes that the Bengals offense must remain pass-heavy due to a lack of rushing efficiency. Meanwhile, Bijan Robinson, Ashton Jeanty, and Jonathan Taylor all underperformed on Sunday.
Fantasy impact
Burrow remains a high-end QB1 option for his upcoming matchup in Atlanta during Week 9. Both Chase and Higgins are solid WR1 options based on their recent production. The Bengals' reliance on the air attack suggests these three will continue to be the primary focus for fantasy managers.
Conversely, the underperformance of Bijan Robinson and other top running backs indicates volatility in the RB position.
What to do
Start Joe Burrow, Ja'Marr Chase, and Tee Higgins as top-tier options in Week 9.
Monitor the status of Bijan Robinson and the Falcons offense before the next matchup.
