Cincinnati Bengals star wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase displayed visible frustration during Sunday's 43-36 overtime victory over the Tennessee Titans. According to ESPN, the two-time All-Pro spiked his helmet on the sideline and sat alone after what appeared to be impassioned comments. Despite the emotional outburst, Chase cooled down to make critical plays when the game was on the line.
Bengals coach Zac Taylor dismissed concerns about Chase's temper, stating he appreciates the competitive fire. "He may be mad at me, he may be mad at whoever," Taylor said. "I trust him to go out there and do his job. That doesn't change anything." Chase finished the game with 11 catches for a season-high 141 yards and one touchdown, per ESPN.
Fantasy impact
Chase proved his resilience by recording two key receptions in overtime that set up the game-winning score. He caught a 17-yard pass early in the extra period and a 14-yard catch later to position quarterback Joe Burrow for a 9-yard rushing touchdown. Burrow noted the emotional nature of the contest, explaining, "It was an emotional game. I didn't him on the deep one and we turned it over too many times."
The Bengals (5-2) now prepare to travel to Madrid for their next matchup against the Atlanta Falcons. Chase acknowledged the need to finish games stronger, saying, "When we got the ball first (in overtime), we've just got to put them away." His ability to deliver in high-pressure moments solidifies his status as a top-tier option.
What to do
Start Ja'Marr Chase as a WR1 in all fantasy formats given his massive target share and overtime production. Even when visibly upset, he remains the primary weapon on offense with 11 catches and 141 yards on Sunday.
