Michael Carter unlikely to help fantasy owners in Week 8 Titans game

Michael Carter faces a tough matchup against Cincinnati while Tony Pollard dominates the backfield, making him a bench option for Week 8.

Goodman of RotoBaller wrote. Carter made his debut last week against Cleveland, where he played just 25% of the offensive snaps and recorded three carries for seven yards.

In that same game, starter Tony Pollard played 75% of the snaps and handled 25 rushing attempts, confirming his position at the top of the depth chart. The upcoming matchup against the Bengals offers little hope for increased volume, as Cincinnati has allowed the third-fewest PPR fantasy points to running backs this season. Carter's only path to relevance involves a heavy pass-catching role if the Titans fall behind early in a game where they are expected to trail.

Fantasy impact

Carter's role remains firmly behind Pollard, limiting his value to a speculative handcuff in deep leagues. Goodman notes that while Carter has pass-catching ability, his limited snap share makes it difficult to project meaningful production. The Bengals' strong run defense further suppresses his ceiling, meaning he is unlikely to break out even if the game script becomes negative for Tennessee.

What to do

Bench Michael Carter in all standard and most PPR formats for Week 8. Pollard will dominate the touches, and the difficult matchup against Cincinnati provides no safety net for the backup.

Until the game script shifts drastically, Carter remains a player to leave on the bench.
