One well-placed source told ESPN on Saturday that there is "no way" the New York Jets will trade star wide receiver Garrett Wilson before the Nov. 10 NFL trade deadline. This confirmation comes despite increased speculation surrounding the team's 2-5 start and the recent blockbuster moves involving other stars like Jeffery Simmons. The Jets have no interest in moving the 26-year-old receiver, who signed a four-year, $130 million extension just 15 months ago.

During a Wednesday afternoon press conference, Wilson personally responded to inquiries about whether he intended to ask for a trade while addressing the circulating rumors. When queried about seeking a trade from the Jets prior to the Nov. 10 NFL trade deadline during a Wednesday afternoon press conference, Wilson replied, "Nah." He emphasized his desire to stay in New York, stating, "I want to be here, man," while acknowledging the team's struggles to find wins.

Fantasy impact

The Jets' decision to keep Wilson ensures he remains the primary target in an offense that ranks 21st in passing yards at 206.6 per game. Through the first seven weeks of the season, Wilson has accumulated 37 receptions, 444 yards, and three touchdowns. His role is secure even as quarterback Geno Smith completes 70.0% of his passes with 10 touchdowns and two interceptions. The team owns a surplus of draft picks from previous trades, so they do not need to deal Wilson to acquire more assets.

What to do

Start Garrett Wilson as a WR2 in all formats because his status as the team's top receiver is now confirmed until the end of the season. He faces a schedule where he will continue to see high target volume despite the Jets' poor offensive ranking.

Monitor the team's performance on Sunday, but no lineup changes should be made based on trade rumors since the source explicitly ruled out a move. Wilson's value remains steady as the Jets prioritize building around him for the 2027 draft rather than accumulating picks.
