The Carolina Panthers are looking to address their crumbling offensive line as the trade deadline approaches. Jeremy Fowler of ESPN insider reports that the Las Vegas Raiders might be open to trading guard and center Jackson Powers-Johnson. Fowler noted that "Several teams are combing the guard market, and Powers-Johnson wouldn't cost as much as the marquee names."

Carolina lost to the Green Bay Packers 27-19 on Thursday, Oct. 29, after quarterback Bryce Young was sacked six times. The Panthers need help immediately, as center Luke Fortner has surrendered 18 pressures through the first seven games, according to Cat Crave. Fowler added that "A Day 3 pick swap might get something done, allowing the Raiders to improve positioning on the back of the draft order."

Fantasy impact

A trade for Powers-Johnson would stabilize the interior line and reduce the pressure on Bryce Young. Young has faced constant pressure, which hurts his ability to complete deep passes or extend plays for running back Chuba Hubbard. The Panthers also lost starting right tackle Taylor Moton for the season, making any addition vital for the unit.

If the deal goes through, Young's fantasy floor rises significantly as he faces fewer sacks. However, the trade is not guaranteed, and the Panthers currently have no reliable alternative at center if Fortner continues to struggle.

What to do

Hold Bryce Young for now while monitoring the trade deadline closely. The upcoming matchup against the Denver Broncos on Sunday, Nov. 8, at Bank of America Stadium is a tough test, but Young remains a viable starter in 12-team leagues if the line improves.

Watch for official confirmation of the Powers-Johnson deal before making aggressive starts or adds. If the trade fails to materialize, Young's outlook remains risky against a Broncos defense that will look to exploit the Panthers' injuries up front.
