The Indianapolis Colts are now willing to move star running back Jonathan Taylor, per reports. Schefter reported on Saturday that "The Indianapolis Colts now are open to trading star running back Jonathan Taylor ." This shift opens a path for the New York Giants, who are looking to upgrade their roster before the Nov. 10 deadline.

According to reports, Indianapolis has been contacted by several teams, with reports indicating that discussions remain active and ongoing. The Giants are one of the primary suitors, but they will face a steep asking price. The Ringer's Tom Pelissero noted that Indianapolis has already rejected a bid involving a 2027 second-round pick plus an additional pick, according to Yahoo Sports.

Fantasy impact

If the Giants acquire Taylor, he would immediately become the primary ball carrier in New York's offense. Current running backs Cam Skattebo and Tyrone Tracy Jr. have struggled with consistency, and the team has shown a desire to add a veteran "bell-cow" back to lead the ground game. The Giants finished with close to 200 rushing yards against the Houston Texans last week, but they need more reliability for the playoff stretch.

Acquiring Taylor would solidify the Giants' offense, which has already moved its fourth, fifth, and seventh-round draft picks this year to build the roster. The team is currently 4-2-1 and sits atop the NFC East, making them active buyers rather than sellers. They are focused on securing players under contract beyond this season rather than short-term rentals.

What to do

Hold Jonathan Taylor in all formats while you monitor the trade talks closely. The Colts have made it clear they want a premium return, so a deal is not guaranteed before the deadline.

Fantasy managers should wait for official news of a transaction before making any roster moves. If the trade goes through, Taylor will likely see a massive workload in New York, but the asking price remains a significant hurdle.
